Some memes that can be categorizes as Dank, can seem very confusing to many people. That often relates to some unique characteristics of Gen-Z or Zoomer Humor, that Heavily relies on the use of Post Irony, which is a return to sincerity through the aesthetics of satire, and Meta irony, which is the appearance or tone of satire and irony without any commitment to meaning o transmitting a message.

POST-IRONIC MEMES
Post-Irony provides an soft and light-spirited way to be honest about difficult topics and situations. Being a Return to sincerity with the look and feel of typically ironic content, Post irony very often appears as a tool for expression of socially awkward subjects or taboo, like calls for help, confessions, romantic propositions or commentary on one's mental health problems. The memes bellow use Post-irony as a way of tackling these problems in a softer way, without compromising the message.
META-IRONIC MEMES
In meta- irony, the author doesn't want the reader to be sure if the message is ironic or not. In other words, Meta-irony is fundamentally nonsensical, since the message is always ambiguous, and almost impossible to understand or even identify. Despite they cannot be classified for sure as meta-ironic, the memes bellow have characteristics that make them good candidates for being in this category: They display a very heavy use of ironic aesthetic, and messages that seem to be intentionally confusing, in a way that hides the identity of the author.
